Casey Dermatology was established in 1976 by Dr Terry Casey. Today, the practice that he founded continues under his daughter, Dr Genevieve Casey, whose motivation is to practice medicine true to her father’s standards and ethic.
Challenge
There's no question that the audience is complicated, made up of referring GP's, professional peers, prospective patients & current patients. Although, that is the norm when dealing with medical professionals, the true challenge with Casey Dermatology was finding that balance between staying true to the history of the practice whilst bringing new life into it.
solution
Starting with a guiding thought 'care that's as personalised as the skin you're in' we then sought to visualise the idea, developing a system of patterns inspired by skin and its various layers and functions. From there we defined a colour palette that not only shared the warmth of visiting the family owned practice but also walking that fine line between being visually appealing yet not looking like a cosmetic brand. The final touch to the brand was the pairing of an elegant but modern serif as a feature type choice to coincide with an honest sans serif for the details.
